Let's have fun designing your own bento and experience the Japanese meal culture.

Fun cooking class experiencing a form of Japanese art, Bento. Cook and serve in your own Bento Box, then enjoy your creation as lunch! Also taste five different Shochu, a popular distilled liquor in japan. On sunny day, you can take the bento away and go on a picnic to any park. If it’s on season, you can even  enjoy cherry blossom viewing party!

  • Experience the art of bento making

    For Japanese people, making bento is not just about lunch but about making a piece of art. Joining this bento course, you can feel the spirit of Japanese cooking. Get creative and decorate the bento as you like.

  • A complimentary shōchū tasting experience

    You can enjoy a sampling of 5 Shochus of various ingredients such as rice, barley, brown sugar, sweet potato and mango. Shochu is different than “Sake” as it is distilled while sake (called Nihonshu in Japan) is a brewed rice. You can enjoy Shochu not only on the rocks or straight, just like whiskey, but also with soda and juice which is called Sour Coktail. 

  • You can take it away to picnic!

    The great function bento has is its mobility. If you like, you can bring the bento after cooking and enjoy picnic outside.

Tour Overview

  • 11:00am

    Arrive at the reception of ABC Cooking Studio (either in Marunouchi or Nihombashi).

  • 11:10am

    Get started on your Bento making experience!

  • You’ll learn how to extract “dashi”, fundamental soup stock for Japanese dishes.

  • Cook grounded chicken and eggs with chopsticks!

  • 12:00pm

    Finish your experience having lunch and with a sampling of different Shochu (Japanese distilled alcohol). 

  • 12:30pm

    A copy of the recipe and a certificate of course completion will be presented to you before you leave.
