Fruits Daifuku "Mochi" Cooking Class with Sencha Experience

Join our "mochi" cooking class in central Tokyo, taught by a professional instructor at one of Japan’s largest culinary schools! Kitchen tools, apron, handy towel are all included. Just bring yourself!

Mini bottle of Shochu (Japanese liquor) will be given to all the customer!

 

This is a quick and easy hands-on cooking class for busy travelers! Try your own Mochi Sweets for tea time after 1-hour class. Japanese confectionery “Daifuku” has become popular in recent years as a rice cake “Mochi” in overseas countries. In this class, you will make 3 Daifukus from the rice flour with whipped cream, fruits and matcha (green tea powder).  Also, a brief instruction of  Sencha (roasted green tea) experience will be given at the end of the class.

    Location of the cooking studio is in Marunouchi or  Nihonbashi. Ginza shopping street, Tokyo Station, Imperial Palace,  subways are in walking distance from the cooking studio!

  • Japanese Sweets "Daifuku"

    Daifuku are a Japanese dessert of mochi (rice cake) stuffed with a sweet filling. During the class, the instructor will teach you many tips to make hand-made mochi with fruits and whip cream.

  • Sencha Experience

    Sencha (煎茶, literally translates as decocted tea) is the most popular type of green tea in Japan.  In fact, more than 80% of the green tea processed in Japan results in sencha.  Please enjoy a brief instruction with Japanese style teapot (kyusu).

Tour Overview

  • 14:00 p ABC Cooking Studio

    Meet up with your instructor at the reception of ABC Cooking Studio. Aprons, kitchen towels, chef hat and beverages are all included! 

  • Cooking Class

    Get started on your Daifuku making experience!

  • Following the instruction of an experienced cooking teacher, let’s learn how to make Mochi from the rice flour. 

  • 15:00 p

    Your Daifukus are ready!

  • Please enjoy the authentic combination of Daifuku and Sencha at the table!

  • 15:30 p

    Finish your cooking experience with the written cooking recipe to take back home!
