  • Asakusa

    Asakusa is the center of Tokyo’s shitamachi (literally “low city”), one of Tokyo’s districts, where an atmosphere of the Tokyo of past decades survives.

  • Rolled Sushi Cooking Class

     Learn how to prepare some of the most authentic washoku (Japanese dishes) at Japan’s largest cooking school. Rolled SushiTamagoyaki (Japanese omelet) and Clear Soup, along with dessert.

Tour Overview

  • 11:50 am Meet up

    Meet up with your guide at noon in front of KAMINARIMON KOBAN (police box) nearby Kaminarimon Gate. Please find a friendly-smile person who holds your name with a picture of Sushi Art.

  • 12:00 pm Asakusa Shopping Street

    At Asakusa Nakamise Shopping Street, you’ll grab the samples of Ningyo-yaki (a small snack cake with bean paste) with the tour guide. Then you can enjoy a walk-and-eat and shop lots of different kinds of souvenirs at your own pace

  • 12:45 pm

    After approx. 30 mins walking, the tour guide will take you to the temple’s main hall of Sensoji red Temple, where people make a wish and pray, after stop at two holy places about water and smoke to refresh your mind and body with learning local etiquette from the guide.  You can also experience a fortune slip (omikuji) with the guide’s instruction at the main hall.

  • 13:30 pm Subway

    After approx. 1.5 hour walking at Asakusa area, let’s get in subway Ginza line, the oldest metro in Japan, to head to the gourmet cooking studio in Nihonbashi, where is also very traditional area and close to Tokyo station or Ginza district.

  • 14:00 pm Cooking Class

     Following the instruction of an experienced cooking teacher to learn two ‘washoku’ recipes, a style of Japanese cuisine emphasizing traditional and homemade techniques

  • Let’s make Rolled Sushi and Japanese Egg Roll!

  • 15:30 Tour ends

    Finish your cooking session by enjoying your creation at the table (or take away with lunch box) and get the cooking recipe to take back home.
