You will learn how to make Okonomiyaki with sliced pork belly and Stir-Fried Pork with Miso that go with Shochu! By taking this lesson, you will have a better understanding of the interaction between Izakaya menus and Shochu! 5 different kinds of Shochu tasting is available!

  • Shochu

    Shochu is a Japanese distilled alcoholic beverage made from a variety of raw materials such as barley, rice, potato, and brown sugar. Izakaya is a type of Japanese casual bar that serves small and inexpensive dishes.

    In this cooking class, we offer a glass of Mugi(Barely) Shochu as a welcome drink, so enjoy tasting Shochu while making typical Izakaya dishes with your English speaking instructor!

    ・Stir-Fried Pork with Miso

    Okonomiyaki is derived from two Japanese words “okonomi” and “yaki”, and okonomi means “as you like” and Yaki means “grill”. This savory pancake can be made with a variety of ingredients and this time you will learn how to make Okonomiyaki with sliced pork belly. And Stir-Fried Pork with Miso is an easy pork dish with Japanese traditional fermented soybeans.

    Miso is a seasoning that Japanese people usually stock at home, adding saltiness and flavor to dishes.
